It’s just over a month since Cereal Killer Cafe opened on Brick Lane and the founder twins are already looking to expand around London. Co-owner Gary Keery told us: ‘We are currently looking for a property in Camden as we do want to expand and have also had interest for franchise opportunities from every corner of the globe, which is something else we are looking into at the minute. Also, we are meeting with publishers this week to release a cookbook in the next six months!’
Every time we’ve been past the café in the last few weeks there have been queues around the block, so it seems like the initial burst of popularity isn’t letting up. ‘We have sold over 20,000 bowls of cereal since we opened!’ Gary told us. And it seems everyone likes to eat cereal in their own way. ‘The weirdest requests are when people have orange juice instead of milk or butter on their Weetabix! The most popular is anything weird and foreign. Everything sugary, colourful and full of e-numbers seems to sell well.’
Oh, and have you heard about the crisp sandwich cafe?!
