Good news, fashion fans: the V&A has just released over 50,000 extra tickets for its jaw-dropping Alexander McQueen retrospective, ‘Savage Beauty’, due to massive public demand. It’ll also now run for an extra two weeks, now closing on August 2, with extra viewing slots to be made available in the early mornings and evenings.
It doesn’t open for another two months, but ‘Savage Beauty’ has already managed to smash the museum’s record for advance sales, shifting well over 30,000 tickets since booking opened last April.
What’s all the fuss about? Alexander McQueen was one of London’s most extraordinary fashion talents, and the show is set to be a bigger, better version of the Met’s sell-out 2011 exhibition. There’ll be more than 200 ensembles on display – the largest number of the designer’s works ever seen in one place. So it’s kind of a big deal.
