CLF Art Cafe

We’re back with the best parties taking place Friday to Sunday in the capital. Don’t agree with our selection? Then check out the crazy assortment of club nights, pop-ups and one-off events over at our Clubs page.

Friday Feb 20

CLF Art Cafe (The Bussey Building)

Roll up, roll up, for this delightfully quirky mish-mash of clubbing, music, cabaret, games and other fun, all themed around a fairground. Set over the four floors of Peckham’s CLF Cafe (Bussey Building), there’ll be carnival games in the basement (coconut shy, hoopla), plus a running track for egg and spoon races, bands and live music on the first floor from 8pm before DJs from Shorebitch and Rebel Bingo spin hip hop, R&B and garage from 10.30pm.

Contortionists and immersive performances will also feature heavily thoughout the night, and there’s a theatre on the top floor, featuring a cabaret freak show, musical bingo, a magician, drag queens and burlesque.

The Monarch

At this movie song-themed club night, DJs spin the hits from a range of films, both cult classics and mainstream blockbusters, covering indie, pop, rock and power ballad classics. Plus, there are Dirty Dance-offs, free popcorn, one-off specials and even an Oscar podium to ensure maximum fun.

This week it’s a battle of the Brits Oscar night special at Soundtracks, which essentially means an excuse to pit the two hottest-topic Brit actors against each other. Are you Team Benedict or Team Redmayne? Pick your side and get dancing. There’ll be movie poster photoshoots, plus tons of songs from Oscar-winning soundtracks from across the years.

Sunday Love

Old Queen’s Head

Grasp the end of the weekend by the collar and wrestle it onto the dancefloor at this new series of super-cheap Sunday night parties. Held at Islington party boozer The Old Queen’s Head, the series features great DJs spinning all kinds of deep house, techno, trippy disco, bass and more.

This week it’s the turn of psychedelic house producer Daniele Baldelli and Boiler Room’s Tasker.
