Another week, another crop of hot tickets to upcoming London gigs. It’s payday for most of us, so you’ve (probably) no excuse not to snap up a seat at one of these exciting shows. As ever, check our weekly ‘Just announced‘ page for more.
Hyde Park, June 20
Last week the Britpop kings announced their return with a new album ‘The Magic Whip’ and this outdoor mega-gig. It’ll be the fourth time the band have headlined in Hyde Park – something no other act has achieved – so we’re expecting plenty of ‘Parklife’ puns as well as a storming set.
LIVE AT CHELSEA
Royal Hospital Chelsea, June 12 to 14
For the first time ever, the Chelsea Pensioners are letting their gardens be used this summer for a series of open-air gigs. With uplifting sounds from Damien Rice, Rufus Wainwright and Alison Moyet across three nights, proceedings should be very civilised – this is the home of the Chelsea Flower Show, after all.
MARINA & THE DIAMONDS
Oslo, Mar 11
Elastic-voiced quirk-pop star Marina Diamandis returns for her first live show in two years, showcasing songs from her forthcoming ‘Froot’ album in an intimate setting in Hackney. This one’ll sell out quick.
The O2, May 18
The first artist to be signed to Jay Z’s Roc Nation label back in 2009, Cole has proven himself adept at applying his zippy flows to a range of stylish beats – from soul to punchy, rock-sampling fist-pumpers. He’s over here to give London what for with tracks from his latest album, the intimately autobiographical ‘2014 Forest Hills Drive’.
