It’s officially spring. The buds are sprouting, the flowers are blossoming and some incredible venues are opening their doors. In the spirit of all things fresh, head somewhere new this month, to one of these five venues, recommended by Hire Space.
Having opened mere days ago, this Islington-based venue is already making a name for itself as London’s friendliest and most inclusive members’ club. Despite the name, Dead Dolls’ House is a warm and welcoming Victorian townhouse, located on an Upper Street site that has been a debaucherous purveyor of fine wine and entertainment for nearly two centuries. It’s free before 10pm and £5 thereafter, or free all evening for members.
There’s been a lot of buzz around this new Soho venue, with many excited Londoners planning their trip already – despite it not opening until March 5. It’s an incredible underground speakeasy bar, with a secret entrance, that is literally in an underground tube station. With a 1940s-era look, this high-concept venue is truly unique and bound to be a big one this month.
The sun is just beginning to pierce the clouds once again, and its warmth is giving us our first chance to head up onto London’s rooftop terraces. Perfect for a springy afternoon in Farringdon.
4. The Driver
This Kings Cross venue is literally blossoming, as it’s not only just opened – it’s also wrapped in one of London’s most elaborate vertical gardens, designed by Patrick Blanc. There’s also a gorgeous roof terrace for spring cocktails and a panoramic view.
Having only just reopened after a four-month transformation, this Ealing pub and dining room has reemerged as an intriguing medley of antlers, chandeliers and wood panelling. With its own on-site microbrewery and a truly amazing moose’s head, this is a truly unique venue.
