Hundreds of people are planning to meet at Whitehall at 6pm tonight for a march against the treatment of homeless people. The protest is part of March for the Homeless 2015, an international campaign to raise awareness of the issues facing the homeless. The event is being organised by Unite the Union and Streets Kitchen and focuses on a theme of ‘No more deaths on our streets’. The organisers are hoping to create a carnival atmosphere, with live music, spoken word and workshops. They’re also putting on a voter registration drive, to encourage homeless people to register to vote for this year’s general election.
