Half-price vietnamese food, rooftop pop-ups and Wingfest 2015: it’s LondOntheInside’s tips for May

Our mates at LondOntheInside have rounded up five things they’re pretty damn excited about this month.

Little Viet Kitchen soft launch, Angel, May 7

We’re huge fans of a neighbourhood joint and Little Viet Kitchen ticks all the boxes. It’s a small, cute-looking restaurant serving authentic Vietnamese food and there’s a 50 percent off soft launch from May 7–15. Remember to book online before you go and order the crispy pancakes.’

Roofnic, 529-533 Oxford Street, May 11

‘We love a bit of rooftop boozing in the summer so we’ll defo be checking out Roofnic, the new pop-up on Oxford Street. It’s decked out with astroturf and garden furniture, with summery sustenance in the form of steamed pork belly buns and fruity cocktails.’

Yauatcha City, May 20

‘One of our favourite restaurants in London is opening a second site, meaning we can now get the best prawn and bean-curd cheung fun in two different locations. Head down for delish dim sum.’

Wingfest 2015, Hackney Wick, May 23

‘The wing challenge gets underway again this month and it’s one motherclucker of a showdown to see who rules the roost. We’re heading down to eat as many wings as poss from the likes of Randy’s Wing Bar and Buffalo Joe’s – for a pound a portion it’d be rude not to – and we’d recommend you do the same too. Go on, don’t be a chicken.’

Francisco The Man, Sebright Arms, May 28

‘Its not just their names we find cool – Scotty Cantino, Brock Woolsey, Néstor Romero and Abdeel Ortega – it’s the huge sound they produce. See you down the front.’
