Someone has been putting funny plaques on east London benches

Posted at 4:30 pm, May 20, 2015 in Fun London

A Banksy-like scamp has left mocking, anti-establishment messages on public benches in Leytonstone. They are etched into plaques and two have been spotted so far. One bears the legend: ‘Designated alcohol research bench. Waltham forest council.’ The other, near Saint John the Baptist Church, reads: ‘Sit on me. I bet you haven’t felt this much wood since church.’ Ouch. Saint John the Baptist vicar David Britton is less than amused at the innuendo. Thankfully, he’s the forgiving type.
