If your bank balance can’t quite stretch to flights to Zambia, then you’ll be pleased to know that you might soon be able to go on safari without leaving Zone 1. London Zoo has released plans to build a safari camp complete with nine cabins so that visitors can stay overnight in the zoo. The cabins will be adjacent to the lion enclosure, but hopefully they’ll also be sleeping so you won’t be kept awake by their growls. Visitors will arrive at the zoo at closing time for a tour of what goes down after hours, before heading back to the cabins for dinner. London Zoo has submitted an application to Westminster Council and a decision will be made this summer. Fingers crossed it gets the green light because we reckon it would be a roaring success.
