The excellent E5 Bakehouse, underneath the arches near London Fields, has started milling its own flour. To celebrate the new venture, housed in the company’s third arch, it’s throwing an open day this Saturday. Hours are noon-10pm, and activities include live music, Middle Eastern flatbreads from their new wood-fired oven, and workshops with local artists. Plus beer, wine and cocktails should you happen to get thirsty. Surely it’s now only a matter of time before they start growing wheat in the park….
